Together with GIIB's announcement of the newly signed Master Franchise Agreement with Point S France to represent the company in Malaysia, this news also got attention from the reputable global publications in the tyre industry.
An article taglined "Point S Enters Another New Market: Asia" has been published by Modern Tyre Dealer on 25th of October, saying:
"Point S is continuing its expansion around the globe, with a partnership that will bring the brand to Asia. A master franchise agreement with Goodway Integrated Industries Berhad (GIIB Group) and partners will create a dedicated company to manage and develop the Point S network.
Malaysia is the first country on the continent to join the international network of independent tire dealers."
This has been followed by The Tyre Press on 26th of October stating that "the implementation of the brand will be operated through a master franchise agreement with GIIB Group (Goodway Integrated Industries Berhad) and partners, which will create a dedicated company to manage and develop the Point S network.
GIIB Group, created in 1990, is the Asia's largest rubber compound exporter, tyre retreader and trader. Since 2005 and the acquisition of Big Wheel, based in Kota Kinabalu, GIIB Group is also involved in the tyre retail. Through the partnership with Point S, GIIB Group wishes to expand the retail side of its business and bring to the market the Point S retail concept proven in 30 countries in the world."
TyreAsia quotes Tai Qisheng, the co-CEO of GIIB Group, as follows:
"We are very proud to bring Point S into Malaysia, after years of planning and to identify what are the gaps surrounding the industry. More importantly through this brand, we want to bring in a very unified service point for both car and commercial users into getting the right advice to what their needs should be.In addition, we also want to bring new level of business to the dealers and give them new competitive edge to excel in this industry."
